Overview +

Since 1972, our multidisciplinary planning firm has been working regionally with municipalities, corporations, planning firms and architects.

Our dedication to these principles has allowed us to expertly execute a wide and diverse range of services to an equally diverse clientele in Northern Ohio for half a century. Our Team

Todd M. Sciano | P.E., CPESC +

Todd has over twenty-five years of experience in the design and construction management of site, infrastructure, industrial, municipal, and brownfield redevelopment engineering projects. He has extensive experience in both municipal and private development, with a unique talent for landfill management and redevelopment.

Todd’s varied areas of interest and expertise provide him with technical design capabilities paired with construction project management. Todd is well-versed in every aspect of a project and has a full understanding of client needs—from preliminary planning, development, design, permitting and management through construction.

Gerald M. Wise, P.E. | Principal & Corporate President +

Gerald has over twenty-five years of experience in Civil Engineering. After developing an interest in the field during his youth, Gerald received an engineering degree at Cleveland State University. He then chose a path that would ultimately lead him to his current role as a principal with Donald Bohning & Associates.

Gerald has served as the Chief Design Engineer on several large-scale residential and private sector projects. He has expertise in hydrologic and hydraulic studies for both regional and local facilities. He serves as the project coordinator for private sector development projects. In 2006, he began providing extensive municipal consulting services to the City of Brecksville and in 2010 was named the city’s Engineer. Gerald is also the chief supervisor of computer technology for the company.

David M. Gracon | Principal +

David's early interest in maps, map-making, road planning and community design led him to a degree in Civil Engineering. He has been a part of the Donald Bohning & Associates team for most of his career. He has over 30 years of experience in the design and coordination of private and public projects.

David’s professional work includes extensive experience in the analysis, calculations and design of stormwater management systems, as well as roadway, utility and site grading plans and specifications. He is a valuable resource to all projects—providing a seamless transition from concept through completion.

Jason E. Bohning | Principal & Corporate Treasurer +

Jason Bohning was introduced to the family business at a young age. Working on a survey field crew at only sixteen, he was soon employed summers, weekends and “whenever was needed.” After college, Jason wasted no time and was soon working full time with Donald Bohning & Associates. He has been a mainstay with the company ever since.

As treasurer, Jason is responsible for the bulk of all financial affairs at Donald Bohning & Associates, including: billing and invoice review, day-to-day financial responsibilities, tax and insurance review and compliance. In addition, he assists in running the survey department and is proficient in utilizing Magnet Software (for both the GPS and total station equipment) and construction layout (for utilities, pavement, grading and building).

Michael A. Ackerman, P.S. | Principal +

With an attention to detail and the desire to learn more about history, Michael Ackerman chose a path leading him to receive a surveying degree at The Ohio State University.

Michael further enhanced his surveying skills during time with mentors Kenneth and Robert Bohning in the early 1990s. This proved to be a valuable foundation for experience in Boundary, Topographic, Engineering, and ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys. Michael is also a member of the Professional Land Surveyors of Ohio and has served as an officer in the Cleveland chapter. He assists in the management of the survey department, ensuring the field work that serves as the basis for our detailed engineering design is accurate and cost-effective for our clients.

Christine E. Komer, P.E. | Principal +

Christine has over ten years of experience in the development of Civil Engineering plans for a broad sector of clients. She holds a degree in mathematics from John Carroll University and a B.S. in engineering from the University of Akron. Her passion for problem solving and understanding of clients' needs led to Christine’s growth within the firm, and her appointment as a principal with Donald Bohning & Associates.

Christine has been the lead project manager on multiple municipal and private sector projects. She provides valuable engineering approaches to clients and projects of all sizes, independent of project budget. Christine has excelled in redevelopment of our county’s aging infrastructure and has been able to thoughtfully manage clients' expectations, from schematic development to design.

Travis Coyne, P.E. | Principal +

Travis has over ten years of experience in the development of Civil Engineering plans, with a focus on Commercial and Residential Design. After graduating from the University of Wisconsin—Madison, he relocated to Ohio with his family and was brought onto the Donald Bohning & Associates team in 2013. Travis’s expertise in Residential Design and project management has allowed him to grow, and he now holds a principal role within the firm.

Travis has served as a lead designer and project manager in the company’s residential division and has supervised several large-scale projects. He is skilled in managing the needs of clients and designing cost-effective residential subdivisions. Travis and his team seamlessly navigate the approval process while working on residential subdivisions in multiple different cities, counties and jurisdictions. Travis's strong knowledge of hydraulics and stormwater management allows for efficient and affordable designs for the firm’s private sector clients.
